Club Appoint new Coach

Wantage Lawn Tennis Club has just appointed Andy Aitken as their head coach.  Andy will be running a number of fun-pack activities suitable for all ages and abilities at the Club annual Open Day on Saturday 6th April from 10 until 1pm.

Andy has coached for seven years in the county, and is one of the most enthusiastic tennis coaches around – his love for the sport will get anyone hooked! He has considerable experience in performance coaching helps with the county juniors and captaining the boys U12’s. At the open day Andy will have a ball machine, which can deliver a range of spins and speeds to test even the craftiest of tennis players, and also a speed gun to see if you have a serve as fast as Murray. Anyone with an interest in tennis is invited!

Following on from the open day, starting April 19th, Andy will leading a new junior and adult programme running on Friday evenings from 3:30 – 7:45. The courses will cover all ages and standards. Further details can be obtained by emailing Andy at andy.aitken@growingthegame.co.uk.

To recognised Andy’s arrival and encourage more people to take up tennis, the Club is having a series of free open sessions throughout April – on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 18:30 and on Sundays from 10:30. Contact chris@wantagetennisclub.co.uk for further information.
